A PORTRAIT.
This series of watercolor portraits begins with brief, silent encounters in the underground. I observe a stranger - their face, posture, or expression - and produce a detailed textual description of their appearance. These texts function as prompts for AI-generated images, resulting in portraits that range from close resemblance to distant distortion.
The AI-generated images are not endpoints but transitional material. I digitally alter them, fragment and recombine elements through collage, and rework the figures by hand in watercolor. The final portraits emerge as layered interpretations, situated between memory and invention, observation and imagination, where the image of the person remains unstable and unresolved.
